A Reiki share is a community gathering where students and practitioners get together to share Reiki with each other. It’s a really great way to connect with other community members, and to practice and build skills in a supportive environment.
Amplified healing
This is a space for group healing. Participants take turns giving and receiving Reiki. It’s not uncommon for several practitioners to be giving Reiki to one participant at the same time. This creates an amplified healing experience in a shorter amount of time than in a regular Reiki session.
For example: 5 practitioners all giving Reiki to one person at the same time for 10 minutes; this would be the equivalent to one regular 50 minute session.
Participants receiving Reiki may be laying on treatment tables or seated, as they feel comfortable.
Community connection
Reiki shares are supportive, safe, and healing environments. Students and practitioners gather across various levels, lineages, and styles. It’s a great place to ask questions to other practitioners, share experiences, and get tips.
Racialized spaces
I have started hosting Reiki shares for racialized (IBPOC) students and practitioners of Reiki because representation matters. As someone with Eastern ancestry, who is usually the minority in these circles, it’s important to me to create safe spaces for us racialized community members.
These are spaces where we can be accepted and not exoticized, where we can share in common experiences and celebrate our cultural diversity.
Maybe the parts of us that were made to feel “othered” are actually the source of our strength and wisdom as students and practitioners.
