Frequently asked questions
I’m new to yoga, is that ok?
All individuals are welcome, just as they are. The restorative yoga practice is very gentle, and is not about having a certain level of physical fitness. This is not a vigorous practice. We will set up our foundation with pillows and blankets, and then give ourselves the space to rest and be held.
What is a sound journey?
A sound journey, or a sound bath, is a practice where a practitioner plays various instruments to create experiences through the use of sound and vibration. The purpose is to support release and deep rest, engaging the parasympathetic nervous system and brainwaves states to support deep healing.
What does winter have to do with the water element?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Element Theory, the season of winter connects with the element of water and certain organ systems, such as the kidneys. We will practice connecting directly to and supporting the water element within us to help us get through winter.
